VIP
VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide) is a naturally occurring 28-amino-acid neuropeptide widely distributed throughout the nervous system and peripheral tissues. It is studied in laboratory and preclinical research for its activity at vasoactive intestinal peptide receptors, primarily VPAC1 and VPAC2.
Research involving VIP examines neuroendocrine signaling, smooth-muscle and vascular biology, gastrointestinal signaling, immune-associated pathways, circadian mechanisms, and other processes involving VPAC receptor activity.
Research Classification: Neuropeptide / VPAC1 and VPAC2 receptor agonist Form: Lyophilized peptide Intended Use: Laboratory research
